Bishkek, April 16, 2025. /Kabar/. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbek Kulubaev received on Tuesday permanent representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in the Kyrgyz Republic Hiroyuki Kawamoto in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said.
During the meeting, the head of the foreign ministry expressed gratitude to Kawamoto for his significant contribution to the development of Kyrgyz-Japanese cooperation and the effective implementation of JICA projects, noting the high level of mutual understanding and fruitful joint work.
The parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation, including the promotion and implementation of ongoing projects, as well as prospects for further cooperation. Particular attention was paid to issues of technical and grant assistance provided by the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
Jeenbek Kulubaev especially noted the successful implementation of the One Village One Product (OVOP) and the Human Development Scholarship Program (JDS) projects, emphasizing their significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The important role of Japanese volunteers sent by JICA to various regions of Kyrgyzstan was separately noted. It was emphasized that their activities in the fields of education, healthcare, agriculture and local community development contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
In turn, Hiroyuki Kawamoto expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for their support and cooperation, assuring JICA's readiness to continue to assist in the implementation of joint initiatives and strengthening partnership.
