Kyrgyzstan identifies 22 priority critical minerals

Bishkek, March 9, 2026. /Kabar/. State program has been adopted to develop the critical minerals sector in Kyrgyzstan, within which 22 priority minerals have been identified. Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision Asel Raimkulova announced this at the meeting of Jogorku Kenesh committee.

According to her, information on subsoil use licenses was also presented.

"In 2025, 320 licenses were revoked. Currently, 2,014 licenses are active in the republic. 204 are for gold development, 43 are for metals, 46 are for oil and gas, 367 are for coal, 703 are for groundwater, and 651 are for non-metallic raw materials,” she noted.
