Bishkek, Aug. 19, 2026. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has seen an increase in gout, gouty arthritis, and elevated uric acid levels among the population. Nazgul Omurzakova, Director of the Kyrgyz-Indian Mountain Biomedical Research Center told on Birinchi Radio.

According to her, the center's specialists are currently conducting detailed scientific research to determine the causes of these rising rates and develop effective methods for reducing them.
Nazgul Omurzakova noted that the scientific center is conducting comprehensive research into the specifics of life at high altitudes, diseases common to the region, and the body's adaptation mechanisms to the mountain climate.
"During the center's operation, numerous scientific and practical expeditions have been organized throughout the republic. Our specialists have examined over 10,000 citizens, a significant number of whom received the necessary medical care. Some patients are still under observation. Depending on the indications, outpatient treatment or hospitalization was provided," the center's director emphasized.
