Bishkek, March 11, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan ranked 100th in the Global Terrorism Index, making it one of the safest countries in terms of terrorist attacks. The results were published by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The Global Terrorism Index (GTI) is an annual report that assesses the level of terrorism in different countries and regions of the world. The index is developed by the Institute for Economics and Peace and is based on various indicators, such as the number of terrorist attacks, victims, injuries, and economic damage from terrorism.
The index helps to understand the dynamics of the threat of terrorism and its impact on the security and resilience of societies.
Among the Central Asian states, in addition to Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan were recognized as the countries with the lowest level of impact from terrorism (100th place and zero points). Uzbekistan took 90th place (0.233 points), Tajikistan — 70th (0.999 points).
Russia, which took 16th place in the rating, was included in the category of countries with a high level of terrorism impact. Belarus and Azerbaijan were in 90th place, Armenia — in 79th.
The first lines in the rating are occupied by countries in which the activity and threat of terrorists is the highest. Experts named Burkina Faso, Pakistan and Syria as the most dangerous in this regard.
