He noted that over the past 15-20 years, Kyrgyzstan has seen a steady decline in morbidity and mortality. The peak incidence was recorded in 2001. At that time, 168 cases were registered per 100 thousand of the population. The highest mortality rate from tuberculosis was also recorded in 2001. The mortality rate was 27 cases per 100 thousand of the population.
"As a result of anti-tuberculosis measures taken within the framework of five anti-tuberculosis programs, we have achieved a good reduction in morbidity and mortality during this period. According to preliminary data, in 2024, the incidence in Kyrgyzstan was 56.3 cases per 100 thousand of the population. Compared to 2001 data, the decline was three times. Mortality rates also decreased 10 times. In 2024, 2.6 cases were recorded," the director of the National Center for Phthisiology said.
