Bishkek, May 23, 2026. /Kabar/. From May 19 to 21, a delegation of leading energy companies from the Republic of Tatarstan visited Kyrgyzstan, the country's Ministry of Energy reported.
According to the ministry, during the visit, Minister Taalaibek Ibraev and Ilgiz Sydygaliev, General Director of the National Electric Grid of Kyrgyzstan, introduced the guests to key energy facilities in the Chui and Issyk-Kul regions.
The delegation visited the 500 kV Kemin substation, the production sites of the Bishkek Electric Grid, and the Unigrin solar power plant under construction.
The main goal of the visit was to familiarize themselves with the project to build a modern training center and a training ground for working under voltage in the city of Karakol. The project is being implemented at the initiative of Taalaibek Ibraev under an agreement with JSC Grid Company of Tatarstan.
After the launch of the training center, Kyrgyzstan will become a key educational hub for Central Asia in the energy sector. Young specialists from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will be able to improve their skills there. This is expected to enhance the professional skills of local personnel and elevate the country's energy sector to a safer and more modern level.
The parties also discussed infrastructure modernization, automation, and joint personnel training, noting that this visit has advanced Kyrgyz-Tatar cooperation to a new level.
