Bishkek, March 18, 2026. /Kabar/. In January-February 2026, industrial enterprises of Kyrgyzstan produced 147.8 billion soms worth of goods. This is 15.5% more than in the same period last year, the country’s National Statistical Committee said.
According to data, excluding the Kumtor mine, industrial growth was even higher, at 29%.
These strong performance indicators were driven by increased production volumes:
- vehicles by 42.4%,
- food, beverages, and tobacco by 16.8%,
- refined petroleum products by 18.2%,
- base metals by 11.1%,
- chemical products by 3.1 times,
- pharmaceuticals by 1.7 times,
- mining by 47.2%.
At the same time, electricity, gas, steam, and condensed air supply decreased by 7.8% due to a 14.1% reduction in electricity generation.
The 14.7% increase in water supply, waste treatment, recycling, and secondary raw material production was driven by a 9.9% increase in water collection, processing, and distribution.
The industry accounts for 24.6% of the country's total economy (GDP). Its contribution to overall GDP growth amounted to 3.21 percentage points.
