Bishkek, March 6, 2026 /Kabar/. On the eve of International Women's Day, March 8, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree introducing a new monthly state benefit for all children under three "Bala Yrysy" (Child's wealth).

According to the presidential administration's press service, payments will begin on July 1 of this year and will be provided to every child under three, regardless of family income. The benefit will be 1,200 soms per month.

The president noted that the decision was made in response to numerous citizen requests and is aimed at supporting families during the most crucial period of a child's development.

President

"As head of state, I, of course, see complaints about the state benefit system, where receiving them becomes a virtually insurmountable barrier. The real needs of many mothers are often ignored. Families are forced to turn to the state for assistance, but instead of support, they face refusals and endless bureaucratic red tape.

This is especially unacceptable when it comes to infants. It is during the first years of life that a person's most important physical and mental abilities are formed, abilities that remain with them throughout their life.

Therefore, with today's decree, I instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to develop the introduction of a new benefit, "Bala Yrysy." We know that every child is born with their own "Yrysy"—their own happiness and blessing.

Of course, some will argue that this could be abused. But I believe it's better for the state to pay a few extra benefits to those who are not in dire need than for even one truly needy child to be left without support and nutrition.

I am building a Kyrgyzstan where no child is left behind or neglected. Everything we do is for our children and the future of Kyrgyzstan. I am confident that the economic recovery that has already begun will not only help us overcome poverty in the coming years but also ensure a dignified life for every Kyrgyzstani," noted Sadyr Zhaparov.

The president also emphasized that the new social support measure is intended to reduce child poverty and ensure guaranteed assistance to families during the most crucial period of a child's development. According to the National Statistical Committee, there are approximately 445,000 children under the age of three living in Kyrgyzstan.
