Bishkek, March 18, 2026. /Kabar/. The number of patients with renal failure in Kyrgyzstan is growing from year to year, Minister of Health Damirbek Osmonov told at a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Social Policy.
He said that if before 2010 the number of such patients in the country was 2860, now their number has reached 4478.
According to statistics from the World Health Organization, on average, there are 830 patients per 1 million population. For comparison, this figure is 800 in Kazakhstan and 900 in Russia, while in Kyrgyzstan there are 630 patients per 1 million people.
The minister said that the development of the disease is caused by diabetes, pyelonephritis and high blood pressure.
Today, 54 hemodialysis centers operate in the republic: 2 of them are state-owned, 4 are part of a public-private partnership, and 48 are privately owned.61 doctors and 106 medical staff work in these institutions.
