Bishkek, Feb. 24, 2026. /Kabar/. In Kyrgyzstan, the overall readiness of agricultural machinery is 82%, 2% higher than last year.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, there are currently over 92,000 units of agricultural machinery in the country, including 22,428 tractors, 1,960 combine harvesters, and other types of equipment. Preparations for the 2026 spring field work are actively underway in the regions, with machinery repairs and maintenance being carried out.

Total of 17,959 tractors (80%), 82% of plows, 78% of seeders, 82% of harrows, and 86% of fertilizer spreaders are ready for field work. More than 8,000 arable and over 3,000 seeding units are expected to be used. Meanwhile, the average agricultural machinery supply is approximately 71%, with a shortage of approximately 29%.

It is noted that in recent years, the government has been implementing measures to renew agricultural producers' machinery and tractor fleets through leasing programs. Since 2011, with the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, equipment has been provided on preferential terms (6% per annum for up to 7 years) through Aiyl Bank and Eldik Bank. To date, 10,511 units of machinery worth 29 billion soms have been transferred to agricultural producers. In 2026, 854 units of equipment worth 584 million soms have already been delivered, and by the end of the year, more than 2,000 units worth 7 billion soms are planned to be delivered.

Furthermore, 186 machine and tractor stations operate in the regions, of which 2 are state-owned, 63 are municipal, and 121 are private. They operate over 4,000 units of agricultural machinery.

Inventory results indicate an annual increase in the amount of agricultural machinery in the republic. This increase is due to the successful implementation of leasing projects and direct purchases by farmers. According to customs and tax authorities, over 8,000 units of agricultural machinery of various models were imported into the country last year.
