Trilateral meeting of presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan held
Bishkek, March 31, 2025. /Kabar /. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held today trilateral talks in Khujand before the start of the festive events dedicated to the international holiday of Nooruz.
The press service of the head of state said that a welcoming ceremony and joint photo session took place first, after which the leaders moved to the negotiating hall.
The heads of state discussed current issues of regional cooperation, emphasizing the importance of strengthening good-neighborly relations, jointly implementing infrastructure and economic projects, as well as expanding the region's tourism opportunities.
In his speech, President Sadyr Zhaparov thanked the President of Tajikistan for the warm welcome and high level of organization of the event, symbolizing the unity and friendship of peoples.
"As the popular wisdom says: “A close neighbor is better than a distant relative," the President of Kyrgyzstan noted.
He expressed confidence that initiatives such as today's celebration will become a good tradition and will be held annually in different parts of our countries, bringing with them an atmosphere of brotherhood and mutual understanding.
"Kyrgyzstan is very optimistic about the future and is firmly focused on developing multifaceted cooperation with the fraternal states of Central Asia," Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized.
He also noted that the countries are already successfully implementing large infrastructure and economic projects designed to ensure sustainable growth and prosperity of the entire region.
Sadyr Zhaparov reminded that the cities of Osh, Khujand, Andijan are not only historical centers, but also symbols of centuries-old civilization, rich traditions and culture. In this regard, he proposed considering the possibility of introducing a single visa that will ensure free movement of tourists across the countries of the region, similar to the Schengen zone in Europe. In conclusion, Sadyr Zhaparov noted that regional integration continues to actively develop, and strengthening cooperation in all areas will be the key to sustainable development and prosperity of Central Asia.
