Bishkek, Nov. 7, 2025. /Kabar/. During the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, attended by representatives from 194 countries, Kyrgyzstan hosted an official reception and presented the VI World Nomad Games, which will be held from August 31 to September 6, 2026, on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

According to the Secretariat of the World Nomad Games, the Games will serve as call for the unity of the world's peoples on single platform. Minister of Culture, Information, and Youth Policy of the Kyrgyz Republic Mirbek Mambetaliev invited the international community to participate in this unique event, noting that the World Nomad Games are platform that unites sport, culture, science, and traditions.

In his speech, the minister also noted the resolution unanimously adopted on November 6 by a majority of UNESCO Member States proclaiming September 22 as "International Nomadic Heritage Day." The resolution aims to promote global recognition of the cultural, historical, and social significance of nomadic traditions, as well as their enduring contribution to cultural diversity and sustainable development.

2026 will be a significant year for Kyrgyzstan, as the country will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Issyk-Kul Forum, founded by Chyngyz Aitmatov and a symbol of dialogue, mutual understanding, and human values.

It is also worth noting that high-level international dignitaries participated in the reception and presentation, including Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, as well as numerous Permanent Representatives of UNESCO Member States (Ambassadors to the Organization).

The 43rd session of UNESCO is being held in Samarkand from October 30 to November 13, 2025, the first time in 40 years that the General Conference is being held outside Paris.
