Agreement reached between Kyrgyzstan, Russia to improve fight against drug crime

Bishkek, April 4, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nurbek Abdiev met on April 3 with Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Boris Yakovchenko.

During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of cooperation in the fight against illegal drug trafficking.

"Resolving issues related to the drug threat requires consistency and efficiency. Interaction between departments should include a mechanism for exchanging information, analytical data and conducting joint operations," Nurbek Abdiev emphasized.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to develop joint mechanisms for interaction and exchange of information to improve the effectiveness of the fight against drug crime.
