Bishkek, Feb. 20, 2026. /Kabar/. As a result of proper feeding and quality care, a Holstein-Friesian cow can produce up to 40-50 liters of milk per day, and on average 23-25 liters, 31-year-old farmer Markiza Akhmedova from Bolshevik village of Kara-Suu district of Osh oblast told Kabar. According to her, currently 8 specialists work on her farm, and total of 87 Holstein-Friesian dairy cows are kept.

"On our farm, we focus on raising Holstein-Friesian cows. The record figure is 42 liters of milk per day, the fat content of the milk is 3.8%, and we also produce biogas. To achieve this figure, the cows need to be fed properly and milked on time. If we milk the cow at 8 in the morning and milk it once in the evening, that is not a deal. It is important to milk the cows on time and feed them on time.

For example, one cow is given 20 kg of silage, straw and fodder per day, there are no other problems. If there is no silage, then it is necessary to provide hydroponics. For example, at first I did not have money for silage. When I started the farm, 1 bundle of hay cost 450 soms. At first, I would feed only hay without silage and get 15 liters of milk from each cow. Then I looked on the Internet and found that wheat or barley was grown as a feed, "I have mastered hydroponics. This feed increases the milk production of cows. Hydroponics can be used as feed where there is no proper silage," the farmer said. She also reported that she used to raise cows in a conventional barn, but now she has built a modern barn with minimal costs.

"In this barn, the cows are free to roam without being tied up. Their water is in front of them 24 hours a day. Because the more the cows drink, the higher their milk yield. The cost of building a modern barn was $130,000. The living conditions themselves motivated me to start a farm and raise cows. I lived in Turkey for 10 years and worked in the livestock sector. I thought, "Why should I work under them?" I can do this in my own country. So exactly 10 years later, I returned to Kyrgyzstan, to my village. I looked at my mother, I looked at my neighbors, and they all got only 10 liters of milk a day. In this case, the cows themselves do not cover the costs. For example, if 10 liters of milk covers the costs, then 10 liters of milk should be produced. I quickly looked at everything and researched everything and decided to raise Holstein-Friesian cows. Because these cows give 20 liters of milk in the first calving. However, these cows "It is impossible to raise cattle in mountainous conditions," says Akhmedova.

It should be noted that our heroine called for the following loans provided by the state for the development of livestock farming and to use them properly.

"I would like to tell citizens who are unemployed to take advantage of the assistance provided by the state and engage in livestock farming. Take a low-interest loan provided by the state through "Aiyl Bank" or "Eldik Bank" and start a business with 1-2 cows. Instead of sitting and saying you have no work, raise a cow and milk your cow. You can make money by churning buttermilk and selling it. If you get 40 liters of milk in a day, 20 liters are spent on expenses, and 20 liters of milk is a net profit. In fact, the daily cost of a cow that does not go to pasture is 484 soms. We are currently buying all the feed," she said.

In conclusion, farmer Markiza Akhmedova shared her big goals for the future, such as expanding her farm further and creating additional jobs. It should be noted that Markiza Akhmedova was named champion farmer at the "Agrodialog" forum, which is currently being held by the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry.
