The opening of the conference was addressed by First Deputy Prosecutor General Baimurza Maatov and Dr. Oliver Stolpe, UNODC Representative for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran and Pakistan.

In his speech Maatov noted that the UN Convention against Corruption is a strategic framework for Kyrgyzstan to prevent and combat corruption, and emphasized that close cooperation with international partners contributes to strengthening legal institutions and increasing the transparency of public administration.

The conference is attended by heads and experts of anti-corruption bodies of Central Asian countries, members of international organizations, diplomatic missions and civil society. The event will discuss issues such as asset recovery, prevention of conflicts of interest, protection of whistleblowers, digitalization and combating violations committed through crypto-assets.
