Bishkek, June 24, 2026. /Kabar/. A scientific and practical conference on the religious situation in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia was held at State Committee for National Security (SCNS) Academy.
On June 23, SCNS Academy hosted a scientific and practical conference on the topic: "The religious situation in Kyrgyzstan and the Central Asian Region as a whole, the Impact of the situation in the Middle East on the religious situation in Kyrgyz Republic, Trends and Forecasts."
According to the SCNS, the conference was attended by representatives of leading scientific and educational institutions, as well as government officials and the expert community.
Particular attention was paid to issues of religious security, the prevention of extremism among youth, the influence of the digital environment on the formation of social and religious views, the development of religious education, and an assessment of the risks associated with ongoing processes in the Middle East and their potential impact on Central Asian countries.
Following the event, participants exchanged scientific and practical developments and developed recommendations for the further development of research and educational initiatives, improved monitoring of religious processes, strengthening interagency cooperation, and expanding expert collaboration.
The participants also supported the initiative to regularly hold scientific and practical conferences and expert discussion platforms on the religious situation in Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Asian region.
