Bishkek, May 29, 2025 /Kabar/. Bishkek is the digital capital of the Turkic world, Minister of Digital Development and Innovative Technologies of the Kyrgyz Republic Azamat Zhamangulov told at the annual KIT forum.
“This year the forum is being held under the auspices of the Organization of Turkic States. We are pleased to welcome representatives of fraternal countries, including Deputy Secretary General of the OTS Mirvokhid Azimov. His presence emphasizes the importance of the digital agenda in the Turkic space,” the minister said.
According to him, in 2025 Bishkek was officially declared the digital capital of the amalgamated territorial community. This recognition is the result of joint efforts to develop digital infrastructure, human capital and strengthen regional cooperation.
"Today we live in an era of rapid technological change, where artificial intelligence is becoming a key factor in the development of the economy, industry, education and public administration. In Kyrgyzstan, AI is central to the digital transformation strategy," he emphasized.
He noted that Kyrgyzstan demonstrates growing potential, ranking 99th out of 174 countries in the world ranking of readiness for the implementation of artificial intelligence. Particular attention is paid to the development of civic technologies and non-governmental initiatives, such as projects to use data for socially significant research.
"I am also proud to note that in terms of e-government development, Kyrgyzstan took 78th place out of 193 countries in the UN ranking (EGDI). This is the best indicator for our country for the entire period of participation in this study and a serious step forward in building a modern information society.
Kyrgyzstan is actively moving forward, using the capabilities of artificial intelligence to improve public safety, support the national language and develop local talent. I am confident that the ideas and knowledge gained at this forum will become a solid foundation for new achievements in the digital sphere,” he said.
In addition, Azamat Zhamangulov said that the KIT Forum 2025 is a unique platform for open dialogue, forming long-term partnerships and developing joint solutions. It is especially important that we gather here in Bishkek, which throughout the year will not only be the digital capital of the amalgamated territorial communities, but also a center of attraction for innovative ideas and projects.
