Bishkek, Dec. 29, 2025. /Kabar/. The Tulpar project in Bishkek began implementation in 2022 and became fully operational in August 2023, Bekzhan Akmatbekov, Director of Operations for the Tulpar project told Kabar.

According to him, over the 12 months of 2025, the number of trips paid for using cashless payments reached 160 million, including all types of payments – Visa bank cards, QR payments, standard cards, and other apps.

"The increase in cashless payments was driven by two factors: first, the purchase of new buses by the Bishkek city administration, and second, the scaling and stable operation of the Tulpar system." "The average number of cashless payments was 13.3 million trips, or approximately 40,000 trips per day. On average, 1,027 vehicles were in operation, with fewer on weekends and more on weekdays. In October, we recorded record numbers – over 15 million trips were paid cashless," Akmatbekov said.

The director reported that the Tulpar system will record 7 million cashless payments in 2022, 24 million in 2023, 110 million in 2024, and 160 million in 2025.
