Deputy FMs of Kyrgyzstan and Russia discuss migrants issues

Bishkek, June 26, 2025. /Kabar/. A meeting was held on June 25 in Moscow between Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Almaz Imangaziev and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.

A wide range of topical issues of Kyrgyz-Russian relations were discussed during the meeting. The parties paid special attention to migration issues and the procedure for the stay of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Russian Federation, the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

In particular, issues related to new rules for entry of foreign citizens into the Russian Federation, registration of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic for migration purposes, reduction of the period of their temporary stay in the Russian Federation, testing of children in Russian upon admission to Russian general education organizations, liberalization of measures to close entry into the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as border control for citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic were identified.

Further negotiations were held in an expanded format with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Education and the Border Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, during which the Kyrgyz side made a number of proposals on these issues, taking into account the membership of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation in the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as the high status of the Russian language in the Kyrgyz Republic.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to maintain close contacts for the further implementation of the agreements reached during the negotiations.
