Bishkek, Sept. 24, 2025. /Kabar/. A meeting was held between Kyrgyz Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov and Canadian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Christopher Duggan.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues. Particular attention was paid to holding Kyrgyz-Canadian inter-MFA consultations in Bishkek, as well as developing interparliamentary ties to further strengthen the political dialogue between the countries.
Prospects for trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the creation of favorable conditions for Canadian businesses, and the expansion of Canadian companies' presence in priority economic sectors were also discussed. The parties discussed cooperation in the humanitarian sphere—education, culture, sports, and tourism—as well as issues related to the employment of Kyrgyz citizens in Canada and the training of qualified specialists.
The parties confirmed their readiness to intensify cooperation and further deepen Kyrgyz-Canadian relations.
