General Assembly of Alliance of Turkic News Agencies held in Astana

Bishkek, Nov. 6, 2025. /Kabar/. The General Assembly of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) was held in Kazakhstan’s capital on Thursday, bringing together major media organizations from Turkic-speaking countries.

The meeting gathered representatives of state news agencies from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, and Uzbekistan. The Hungarian National Agency MTI participated as an observer.

Participants discussed strengthening cooperation among Turkic nations in the media sphere, enhancing information exchange between member agencies, applying artificial intelligence in journalism, and developing joint initiatives to counter disinformation.

During the session, members approved the Alliance’s official logo and website, introduced its social media pages, and elected new leadership for the 2025–2027 term.

The two-year chairmanship of ATNA officially passed from Turkiye to Kazakhstan. The coordination of the Alliance’s activities will be carried out by Qazcontent. The meeting also approved granting observer status to MTI (Hungary).

The participants agreed to organize photo and video contests dedicated to tourism in Turkic countries and decided to hold the next General Assembly of ATNA in Azerbaijan.

The session concluded with the signing of a Joint Declaration outlining the key directions and priorities for cooperation in the coming years.

The Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) was established on November 6, 2023, and unites leading state media organizations — AZERTAC (Azerbaijan), Anadolu Agency (Turkiye), Qazcontent JSC (Kazakhstan), Kabar (Kyrgyzstan), and UzA (Uzbekistan).
