Bishkek, Sept. 5, 2025 /Kabar/. Vice President, Head of the Mining Division of Hitachi Construction Machinery Eiji Fukunishi visited the Kumtor deposit of Kyrgyzstan.
Kumtor Gold Company CJSC reported that the main goal is to get acquainted with the Kumtor deposit, the natural and climatic conditions in which Hitachi heavy mining equipment operates. Recently, for the first time in the history of Hitachi Construction Machinery, one of the 5 Hitachi excavators operating at the Kumtor mine has exceeded the 100,000-hour mark.
Bolotbek Idirisov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the closed joint-stock company Kumtor Gold Company, noted the high reliability of the equipment manufactured by Hitachi Construction Machinery.
“The first four Hitachi EX 3600 excavators were delivered to the Kumtor mine in 2012, the fifth in March 2013. Over the years of operation, these machines have proven themselves to be only good. They work properly, performing all the tasks assigned to them, and are easy to operate and maintain. Our craftsmen, who professionally and promptly carry out technical inspections/repairs of any mining equipment, including Hitachi excavators, deserve a great deal of credit for achieving the 100,000-hour mark,” he said.
Bolotbek Idirisov informed the distinguished guest that recently, on August 27, a ceremony to launch the underground gold mining project was held at the Kumtor mine with the participation of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
“This is a very important project for us, the implementation of which will extend the operation of the Kumtor mine for another 40-50 years. In addition, active work is underway to develop the Togolok deposit and geological exploration of the Dzhangart area. We also plan to use Hitachi equipment at these sites,” the head of the company's Board of Directors stated.
In turn, Vice President, Head of the Mining Division of Hitachi Construction Machinery Eiji Fukunishi emphasized the importance of a historic event for the company - one of the 5 excavators operating at the Kumtor mine has reached the 100,000-hour mark.
