Bishkek, March 23, 2026 /Kabar/. Today, as part of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Ervin Ibrahimovic, the Honorary Consulate of Montenegro was opened in Kyrgyzstan.
The official opening was attended by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an official delegation from Montenegro, and Kyrgyz businessmen.
According to the newly appointed Honorary Consul Beknazar Asanov, the main goal of the consulate is to develop economic cooperation. In this regard, it is planned to expand the interaction of businessmen between the two countries.
"In this area, work is underway to attract Kyrgyz businessmen to Montenegro, and Montenegrin businessmen to Kyrgyzstan. Currently, a number of investors from the country are showing interest in our country. In the near future, a large bilateral business forum is being considered, as well as the opening of direct flights. Since there are direct flights with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, if such opportunity is created in Kyrgyzstan, conditions will be created, especially for the development of the tourism industry and the facilitation of business ties. Montenegrin side also expresses its interest in the construction of small hydroelectric power plants, investments in the construction and manufacturing sectors. It is planned to intensify bilateral cooperation in these areas. Currently, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the two countries are conducting negotiations and intend to expand mutual cooperation," Asanov noted.
