Kanazawa University of Japan opens its office in Bishkek

Bishkek, Nov. 14, 2025. /Kabar/. A signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the Kyrgyz-Japan Human Resources Development Center (KRJC) and Kanazawa University took place in Bishkek on November 13.

According to JICA, the official opening of Kanazawa University's partner office at KRJC also took place.

The establishment of a Kanazawa University office in Bishkek aims to develop academic exchanges between Japanese and Central Asian universities, promote joint research and projects in education, ecology, medicine, tourism, and technology, and support young researchers and students from Kyrgyzstan and the region.

It is noted that an important goal will be the formation of an international academic network, the Research Hub, connecting Japan and Central Asia. This initiative will create a platform for developing major research and educational programs, participating in international grants and SATREPS projects, and conducting joint study tours and seminars, the report said.

The event is organized by the Kyrgyz-Japan Human Resources Development Center (KRJC) and Kanazawa University, with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University.
