Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. On October 18, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Office in the Kyrgyz Republic organized a cultural and sports event for children from the “Aidanek” and “Akniet” centers.
The event took place in Bishkek in cooperation with the Social Development Administration of the Bishkek City Hall, with the participation of volunteers from the Republic of Korea and KOICA scholarship alumni.
A total of fourty children, KOICA staff and volunteers, as well as representatives of the Administration and the centers, took part in the event.
The program included sports games, workshops, and educational activities. The children learned about personal hygiene and received care kits, decorated eco-bags, and made bracelets. They also had the opportunity to learn about Korean culture and try on traditional Korean clothing, Hanbok.
Following the activities, a friendly lunch was held where the children and volunteers shared their impressions and positive emotions.
To further support the centers, KOICA donated bedding sets, a computer, and a printer to enhance the daily activities and learning environment for the children and staff.
Aizada Junusova, Director of the Social Development Administration of the Bishkek City Hall, expressed her gratitude to KOICA for its active cooperation and commitment to the younger generation, and presented a letter of appreciation to the organization.
To ensure the safety of participants and smooth traffic, the event was accompanied by officers from the Main Directorate for Road Safety.
Lim So Yeon, Country Director of the KOICA Office in the Kyrgyz Republic, highlighted that such activities help strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Korea, as well as reflect KOICA’s mission — to contribute to social development through exchange, education, and joint participation.
