Kyrgyz ambassador takes part in memorial ceremony for 80th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War in Hebei Province

Bishkek, May 6, 2025. / Kabar /. Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China Aktilek Musaeva took part in a wreath-layingceremony at the memorial to Soviet and Mongolian soldiers who died in battles during the liberation of northeastern China, held on May 5 in Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province of China, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported.

The event, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was attended by the Ambassadors of the Russian Federation, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mongolia, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the leadership of the SCO Secretariat, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, the leadership of the people's governments of Zhangjiakou City and Zhangbei County, representatives of public organizations and descendants of buried soldiers.

The memorial complex is the resting place of servicemen of the Soviet-Mongolian cavalry-mechanized group under the command of General I.A. Pliev, who died during the liberation of Zhangbei County in August 1945.

The opening of the memorial took place in October 1957, the obelisk immortalizes the names of 69 Soviet and 56 Mongolian servicemen.
