Kyrgyz citizens urged to observe precautions in Iran

Bishkek, Jan. 7, 2026. /Kabar/. In recent days, unauthorized protests have been reported in several cities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

As of January 6, 2026, according to official data from the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there are no Kyrgyz citizens among those injured during the protests in Iran.

In connection with these circumstances, the Ministry recommends citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic temporarily refrain from traveling to the Islamic Republic of Iran unless it is urgent or necessary.

Citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic currently in Iran are advised to:

- exercise increased vigilance and caution;

- Avoid crowded places, demonstrations, and other protests;

- Strictly comply with the requirements and recommendations of local authorities and law enforcement agencies;

- Carry identification documents and contact information for the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic;

- Monitor official announcements from local authorities and diplomatic missions.

The Ministry continues to closely monitor the situation and will promptly inform citizens of any changes, if necessary.
