Bishkek, June 4, 2026. /Kabar/. The final round of voting concluded at UN headquarters, with Kyrgyzstan receiving 142 votes, demonstrating the international community's trust in our country, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev told from UN headquarters.

According to him, this is the result of the reforms implemented by President Sadyr Zhaparov and the country's greatest achievement in foreign policy.

"We began this work two years ago. Over the past two months, we have arrived here with a large team of our ambassadors and diplomats, and we have done a great job. We worked with every country. Ultimately, we started the first round with 105 votes, and now we've won with 142 votes. This is a tremendous vote of confidence for the future. However, this confidence comes with great responsibility.

In today's changing world, we must have our own personal position on all conflicts and events with many countries. Therefore, we understand this responsibility. We will strive and work to continue to carry out this work. Overall, the entire international community has recognized Kyrgyzstan and supported us. This is a tremendous achievement for us," said Jeenbek Kulubaev.

As a reminder, Kyrgyzstan was elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027-2028. Total of 191 countries participated in the elections, and our country won a landslide victory, receiving 142 votes. Kyrgyzstan's official tenure as a non-permanent member of the Council will begin on January 1, 2027.
