Bishkek, March 9, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting took place within the framework of the informal meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Istanbul.
During the meeting, the parties discussed topical issues of Kyrgyz-Turkish bilateral cooperation, as well as interaction within international and regional organizations.
Particular attention was paid to mutual support in multilateral diplomacy and further strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two brotherly states.
The ministers also exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional security, including the current situation in the Middle East. In this context, the Kyrgyz side reported on the ongoing efforts to evacuate Kyrgyz citizens from conflict areas and the measures being taken to ensure their safety.
During the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev also spoke about the major international events to be held in Kyrgyzstan in 2026, including those dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, as well as the planned SCO summit and the VI World Nomad Games.
In turn, Minister Hakan Fidan informed the Kyrgyz side about the annual Antalya Diplomatic Forum and invited his Kyrgyz counterpart to participate in its work, including to speak at one of the thematic sessions.
As a result of the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening Kyrgyz-Turkish cooperation and continuing active political dialogue at all levels.
