The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Albania Ruslan Kazakbaev held a number of meetings in Tirana on July 9, 2025 on the development of trade and economic relations.
The report said that at the meeting with head of the cabinet of the Prime Minister of Albania Sindi Dushku, special attention was paid to the creation of a bilateral Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, the establishment of trading houses, as well as the exchange of business missions of entrepreneurs of the two countries. The Albanian side was given draft agreements in various fields aimed at deepening and expanding bilateral Kyrgyz-Albanian cooperation in a wide range of areas.
At the meeting with the Mayor of Tirana Anuela Ristani, issues of developing cooperation between the capitals of the two states - Bishkek and Tirana by establishing sister city relations were discussed, and a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the cities in various fields was handed over.
At a meeting with the Director of the Albanian Investment and Development Agency (AIDA) Laura Plaku, Kazakbaev emphasized the importance of establishing close cooperation between the National Investment Agency under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic and AIDA. In particular, it was proposed to sign a corresponding memorandum of cooperation, organize mutual visits of heads of investment institutions to Tirana and Bishkek, and hold business forums and B2B meetings.
During the conversation with the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tirana, Albana Laknori, an exchange of views took place on enhancing trade relations and expanding interaction between the business communities of the two countries. The ambassador conveyed greetings from the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic Temir Sariev and an invitation to visit Kyrgyzstan, and also noted the importance of establishing cooperation between the chambers to increase cooperation between representatives of small and medium businesses of Kyrgyzstan and Albania.
During the meeting, a presentation of the investment opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ala-Too Resort project also took place. Following the talks, an agreement was reached on organizing business forums, implementing joint initiatives, and signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the relevant trade and industrial institutes, the report said.
