Bishkek, June 21, 2025. /Kabar/. More than 6 million migrants arrived in Russia in 2024, half of them for employment, said Valentina Kazakova, head of the Main Directorate for Migration Issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, speaking at the SPIEF, RIA Novosti reports.
"We have returned to pre-pandemic levels. About 6.3 million foreign citizens are arriving (data for 2024). About 50% of these citizens are arriving for work purposes," she said during the session "Labor Migration. Economic Dimension."
According to the materials presented by the department at the session, the visitors are mainly natives of Uzbekistan (23.3%), Tajikistan (16.7%), Kyrgyzstan (10.4%) and Belarus (9.5%).
