Bishkek, Nov. 10, 2025 /Kabar/. A two-day international forum, "Digital Transformation of National Statistical Systems," was held in Astana to mark the anniversary of Kazakhstan's state statistics.
According to the National Statistical Committee, over 150 representatives from various countries and international organizations participated in the event, including heads and representatives of statistical services from China, Singapore, Georgia, Hungary, Indonesia, Serbia, and the CIS countries, as well as representatives of the UN, UNECE, OECD, UNIDO, UNFPA, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank.
Kyrgyz delegation at the forum was led by Baktybek Kudaibergenov, Chairman of the National Statistical Committee. He delivered a report on "Digital Transformation of Statistics as an Element of Data Quality Assurance."
In his speech, Baktybek Kudaibergenov noted that the digitalization of statistical processes is a strategic direction aimed at increasing the reliability, transparency, and trust in official data. He emphasized that modern statistics play a key role in developing a national data ecosystem and providing a high-quality information basis for public decision-making.
The forum focused on current trends in the digitalization of statistics, data quality and value, and the implementation of big data and artificial intelligence technologies in public administration. Forum participants focused on trust in official statistics, the development of digital data ecosystems, and the use of big data while ensuring its reliable protection. Practical examples of the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies for analyzing administrative data and calculating key indicators, including inflation, were presented.
The event was supported by the CIS Statistical Committee and became an important platform for exchanging experiences and strengthening cooperation between national statistical services.
