Tashkent, Aug. 18, 2025 /Kabar/. Delegations led by Deputy Chairperson of the Social Fund of Kyrgyzstan Gulmira Zhumataeva and Director of the Pension Fund of Uzbekistan Muradbek Atazhanov have agreed in Tashkent on a preliminary mechanism for paying pensions to citizens, the press service of the Uzbek Pension Fund reported.
The meeting participants considered a draft intergovernmental agreement on social insurance and pension provision, taking into account the specifics of national legislation.
The agreement aims to create equal conditions for citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in the right to receive pensions and eliminate double payments. When assigning a pension, work experience is taken into account, payments are made directly to recipients and do not depend on their place of residence.
The document also includes rules on business trips and prevents overpayments. Its implementation will strengthen cooperation between the two countries and pave the way for major projects such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway.
