Bishkek, Oct. 7, 2025. /Kabar/. In the 40th week of this year (from September 29 to October 5, 2025), 5,341 cases of acute respiratory viral infections (ARVI) were recorded in Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health reported.
The ministry noted that compared to the previous week, the incidence rate has decreased by 6.7%. Of all cases, 60% were children under 14 (3,205 cases).
A similar epidemiological situation is observed annually with the onset of autumn, lower temperatures, and the start of the school year, which contributes to increased population density and, consequently, an increase in the incidence rate.
Despite a slight increase in the number of cases, the epidemic season for acute respiratory viral infections and influenza has not yet begun. According to long-term observations, the onset of the epidemic season occurs in late November or early December.
Sentinel epidemiological surveillance for acute respiratory viral infections and influenza is currently ongoing. Laboratory test results from patients with acute respiratory viral infections indicate that the same viruses that are registered in the republic every year are circulating, including adenovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, metapneumovirus, parainfluenza, and rhinovirus.
With the beginning of the new epidemiological season 2025-2026, in week 40, 71 samples were examined, of which 16 were positive, including rhinovirus - 37.5% (6), adenovirus - 25% (4), parainfluenza I-IV - 25% (4), others (bocavirus, metapneumoviruses and coronaviruses - 12.5% (2). No cases of influenza were detected.
