Bishkek, Oct. 2, 2025 /Kabar/. 867 social workers in Kyrgyzstan provide home services to 9,458 elderly citizens, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the country reported.
Among them:
Single elderly citizens – 3,753;
Persons with disabilities – 2,229;
Married couples – 352;
Families in difficult life situations – 3,124.
Each social worker visits the recipient of services at least twice a week according to an individual schedule approved by the head of the territorial administration, the report said.
On average, one specialist supervises 8 to 12 clients. The social worker's working hours do not exceed 40 hours per week.
Social workers identify citizens in need of social support based on written applications from the citizens themselves, requests from local governments, neighbors, or close relatives.
