Bishkek, Oct. 27, 2025. /Kabar/. BRICS International Municipal Forum (IM BRICS) will be held in St. Petersburg from October 29 to 31, 2025, the largest platform for exchanging experience and developing cooperation between cities and regions of BRICS+ countries and friendly states.
According to the organizers, the forum will bring together leaders of municipal administration, representatives of government, business, and the expert community from more than 70 countries. The event will be held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Federation Council, the Presidential Administration, the All-Russian Association of Local Self-Government, and the governments of Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The main goal of the forum is to promote sustainable urban development in accordance with the UN 2030 Agenda, and to develop digital, "green," and social initiatives. In 2024, the forum in Moscow gathered over 6,000 participants from 101 countries, resulting in the signing of 307 agreements on international municipal cooperation. The program of IMBRICS-2025 includes plenary sessions with the participation of heads of municipalities and international organizations, thematic roundtables on digitalization, ecology and innovation, business dialogues, and a technology exhibition. The choice of St. Petersburg is symbolic: the city with its rich cultural and innovative potential will become the center of a global dialogue on the future of cities and regions.
