Bishkek, Jan. 22, 2026 /Kabar/. Conditions for recreation facilities for workers are being improved, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Muradil Jumadilde told at press conference held at Kabar.

According to him, previously, trade unions owned 16 recreation facilities, and the state allocated 0.25% of the funds for the recreation of workers. This amount amounted to 650 million soms by the end of 2024, and 750 million soms in 2025.

“Before the reforms, these funds were used for no purpose, and funds for recreation facilities were not properly allocated. The passes were sold to other people, not to employees who really needed them, which gave rise to protests. The condition of the recreation facilities was also very poor.

Because of this, decision was made to temporarily lease the properties belonging to trade unions to the President’s administration, and all facilities were transferred in 2024. Over the past two years, the state has allocated approximately 1.1 billion soms, and Issyk-Ata and Jeti-Oguz sanatoriums and Ulan children's camp are undergoing complete renovation.

In addition, the funds collected in 2025 will be directed to the renovation of other sanatoriums and boarding houses in 2026. The main goal of these works is to improve the conditions for recreation for workers. Because previously, citizens who traveled on passes often faced very poor conditions,” the chairman said.
