Bishkek, July 16, 2025. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan actively participates in international forums to attract investment in environmental projects, Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision Meder Mashiev told Kabar Agency.
“An investment package totaling 12 billion euros was announced at the EU-Central Asia summit in Samarkand. Of this amount, 6.4 billion euros will be allocated for climate change, and 2.5 billion euros for critical minerals,” the minister said.
The European Union offers regional countries, including Kyrgyzstan, joint developments in the field of critical minerals and climate change. Critical minerals play a key role in the global transition to a low-carbon economy and underlie most modern technologies, including those used in smartphones, electric vehicles, and renewable energy equipment.
The minister also stressed that Kyrgyzstan is actively working to gain access to this funding.
