Bishkek, June 3, 2026 /Kabar/. On June 2, 2026, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev met with Federal Minister for European and International Affairs of the Austrian Republic Beate Meinl-Reisinger in New York.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the talks were a continuation of a telephone conversation between the two ministers held on April 10 of this year at the initiative of the Austrian side.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral ties, including expanding political dialogue, developing trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and strengthening cultural and humanitarian contacts.
Regarding the European Union's sanctions policy, Kulubaev expressed concern about the potential negative impact of unilateral restrictive measures on the trade, economic, and financial development of Kyrgyzstan and the Central Asian countries as a whole. The foreign ministers also placed special emphasis on joint efforts to promote sustainable mountain development issues internationally, including the preparation and hosting of the Second Global Mountain Summit, scheduled for October 2027 in Bishkek.
