Japan hands over equipment on irrigation canal maintenance in Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, April 8, 2026. /Kabar/. The Japanese government, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), handed over 17 units of specialized equipment to the Water Resources Service under the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic.

According to JICA, a total of 63 units of specialized equipment were handed over to the Water Resources Service during the ceremony, 40 of which were purchased with funds from the state budget, and 17 units were donated by the Japanese government through JICA.

It is noted that a total of 38 units of equipment are being transferred to the Water Resources Service under the grant project "Improving the Equipment for Irrigation Canal Maintenance." Of these, 17 units were delivered last year. The remaining equipment is scheduled to be delivered by the end of this year. The grant amount is 1,087,000,000 Japanese yen.

As a reminder, today, April 8, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev handed over the keys to 63 units of specialized equipment to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry.
