Bishkek, Aug. 27, 2025 /Kabar/. On August 27, during a working trip to the Issyk-Kul region, President Sadyr Zhaparov launched the underground gold mining project at the Kumtor Gold Company.
In his speech, the head of state cited the following facts:
From May 2021 to date, the total revenue of the enterprise amounted to 3 billion 445 million US dollars.
The budget of Kyrgyzstan received 891.6 million dollars in taxes and other payments.
During this time, more than 54 tons of gold were produced.
Over the 28 years that Kumtor was managed by a foreign company, Kyrgyzstan received only $100 million in dividends. And over the last 3 years, we have already received $441 million in dividends.
“Pay attention and compare: over 28 years - $100 million, and over 3 years we receive - $441 million in dividends!”, the president said.
