Kyrgyzstan and GIZ strengthen co-op on green skills development

Bishkek, Oct. 24, 2025 / Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mederbek Tumanov, held a meeting with Udo Völker, Head of the Regional Project “Green Skills for a Green Economy” in Central Asia, implemented by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).

The press service of the Economy Ministry reported that the program aims to develop green skills and enhance employment opportunities for youth and women in key sectors of the green economy, including renewable energy, sustainable water management, waste management, the textile industry, construction, and tourism.

Following the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue cooperation in training qualified professionals and to promote regional exchange of experience and best practices in the field of sustainable development.
