Kyrgyz wrestlers to take part in rating tournament in Hungary

Bishkek, July 16, 2025. /Kabar/. The fourth rating tournament in wrestling "Polyák Imre & Varga János Memorial" will start today in the capital of Hungary, the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

According to the information, this tournament will be held with the support of the international federation United World Wrestling (UWW).

It brings together the strongest wrestlers in the world and provides an opportunity to earn important rating points.

Thus, freestyle wrestling matches will be held on the first day of the competition. Athletes will compete in the following seven weight categories: up to 57 kg, up to 61 kg, up to 65 kg, up to 70 kg, up to 79 kg, up to 97 kg and up to 125 kg.

Kyrgyzstan will be represented in the tournament in the weight category up to 61 kg by two wrestlers – Bekzat Almaz uulu and Taiyrbek Zhumashbek uulu. Both are members of the national team.
