Bishkek, June 2, 2025 /Kabar/. On June 1, a meeting was held in Manama with Chairman of the Central Bank of the Kingdom of Bahrain Khalid Ibrahim Humaydan, said the head of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbaev.
During the meeting, the prospects for expanding cooperation between the central banks of the two countries were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the exchange of experience in the field of banking regulation, development of financial markets and Islamic financing.
Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Central Bank of Bahrain. This document lays the foundation for a long-term partnership and opens up new areas of professional interaction.
"Cooperation with Bahrain as one of the world centers of Islamic banking is especially important for us. We expect that this will create opportunities for the implementation of advanced practices consistent with the principles of Islamic financing and attracting investment.
I am confident that the agreements reached will strengthen the ties between our financial institutions and give new impetus to the development of financial cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain,” Turgunbaev said.
