Kyrgyzstan and World Bank discuss safety of school infrastructure

Bishkek, April 9, 2026 /Kabar/. Kyrgyz Ministry of Emergency Situations held a meeting with the World Bank team, chaired by Deputy Minister Iskender Sulaimanov in Bishkek.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, during the meeting, the current status of the "Enhancing Resilience in Kyrgyz Republic" (ERIK) project was discussed, as well as the implementation of Component 2, aimed at improving the safety and functionality of school infrastructure.

Furthermore, priority areas for further cooperation were discussed, including opportunities for technical support, exchange of experience, and the implementation of new initiatives in emergency prevention and management.

Plans for expanding joint work were discussed, including future projects aimed at strengthening infrastructure resilience and enhancing emergency preparedness.

Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the World Bank for its consistent support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and noted the high level of the established partnership.

Following the meeting, appreciation was expressed for the work accomplished and a commitment to further effective cooperation in project implementation was confirmed.
