A meeting was held between Bakyt Torobaev, Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, and Cui Dongyu, Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, Bakyt Torobaev congratulated FAO on the organization's 80th anniversary, noting its significant contribution to global food security and sustainable agricultural development. The minister expressed gratitude to FAO for its continued support and contribution to the development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, emphasizing the importance of further deepening cooperation in areas such as food security, water resource management, livestock development, and sustainable agricultural production.
In turn, Cui Dongyou expressed appreciation for Kyrgyzstan's active participation in the organization's initiatives and noted the extensive potential for collaboration between FAO and the Kyrgyz Republic. He emphasized FAO's readiness to continue implementing ongoing and new projects aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and improving the livelihoods of the country's rural population.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening their partnership and implementing joint initiatives to promote sustainable agricultural development in the Kyrgyz Republic.
