Bishkek, Oct. 30, 2025 /Kabar/. Specialists from the department of chemicalization, plant protection and quarantine of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic held a field meeting with farmers as part of the implementation of the "30+20+10" project.
The meeting discussed key issues in the development of tobacco farming – soil quality, selection of in-demand varieties, export potential, and the introduction of new cultivation technologies. For recommendations, specialists collected soil samples, and farmers shared their problems and suggestions for increasing production efficiency.
According to the ministry, in 2024, tobacco exports amounted to:
- 99.2 tons to Greece;
- 60.3 tons to Vietnam;
- 477 tons of tobacco waste to Russia.
For the first nine months of 2025, export figures continue to grow:
- 288 tons of tobacco supplied to Greece;
- 187 tons of waste to Russia;
- 18 tons to Kazakhstan.
The ministry noted that the expansion of the export geography indicates stable growth in the industry. The "30+20+10" project is aimed at supporting farmers, modernizing agricultural production, and promoting Kyrgyz products to international markets.
