Bishkek, Sept. 3, 2025 /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan is strengthening its position in the light industry and has taken a place among the five countries placing orders for sewing clothes for Russian brands, the Russian magazine PROfashion said.

The leaders included China, Turkiye, Belarus, Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan.

According to experts, getting into this rating was a serious achievement for Kyrgyz manufacturers: the number of orders from global brands is growing, new jobs are being created, and domestic enterprises are strengthening their reputation as a reliable partner in the foreign market.

The head of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) Artem Novikov emphasized that such successes were made possible thanks to the systematic support of the state and the fund's investments in the industry.

"RKDF consistently supports projects in the light industry. The total funding for the garment sector has reached USD 43.5 million. To date, the fund has financed 166 projects aimed at modernizing equipment, expanding production areas and introducing modern technologies. As a result, the export of products from companies that received the fund's support has exceeded USD 35.9 million," Novikov noted.

He added that the fund's systematic investments have a significant multiplier effect: tax revenues are growing, thousands of new jobs are being created, and Kyrgyz manufacturers are becoming sought-after and reliable partners in the international market.

"We will continue to work to strengthen Kyrgyzstan's status as one of the leading textile centers in the region," the head of RKDF said.
