Bishkek, Jan. 13, 2026. /Kabar/. The Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government and Regulations of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic reviewed today and approved, in the first reading, the draft Law “On State Awards, Honorary Titles and State Prizes of the Kyrgyz Republic,” taking into account comments and proposals from deputies.

The initiator of the draft law is the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Deputy Minister of Justice Kuban Kazakov stated that the draft law proposes reducing the number of state awards from 46 to 20 types, including state awards, honorary titles, and state prizes.

In particular, it is proposed to exclude from the system of state awards and honorary titles of the Kyrgyz Republic the orders “Danaker” and “Erdik” (third degree), the honorary title “People’s Poet of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the Certificate of Honor of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as second-category honorary titles “Honored.”

At the same time, it is proposed to delegate the authority to establish the Certificate of Honor of the Kyrgyz Republic and the “Honored” titles to the Cabinet of Ministers.
