Bishkek, June 25, 2025. /Kabar/. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sanjar Bolotov headed the Kyrgyz delegation at the 5th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Swiss Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which took place on June 24 in Bern.
According to the Economy Ministry, the meeting was headed from the Swiss side by the head of the Department for Bilateral Economic Relations of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Ambassador Andrea Rauber Saxer.
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation - trade, investment, tourism, energy, transport, financial instruments, ecology, pharmaceuticals and other areas.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects in Kyrgyzstan, including infrastructure initiatives, grant and technical assistance programs, support for entrepreneurship, as well as business forums and missions. The importance of Switzerland's further participation in the economic reforms of the Kyrgyz Republic was emphasized.
On the eve of the meeting, in Zurich, Sanjar Bolotov met with representatives of Swiss business. The meeting was organized by Switzerland Global Enterprise (S-GE) with the assistance of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Swiss Confederation.
The Deputy Minister gave a presentation on the current economic policy of Kyrgyzstan, ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business climate, as well as investment opportunities in such sectors as trade, energy, finance, industry, mining and tourism. Separately, the prospects for cooperation in logistics, transport and pharmaceuticals were announced.
